Alaa Mendili — Creative Technologist

Hello!

I'm Alaa Mendili, a 27 year old creatively minded digital technologist, developer and designer, currently living and working in Montreal, Stockholm, London, New York, Seattle.

I started creating interactive projects in the late 90s. What back then was just a hobby quickly became a passion which led me to pursue a college degree in digital media. I then graduated from the University of Quebec with a Bachelor of Arts.

Right after school, I started working as a Flash Creative at the integrated advertising agency Sid Lee in Montreal. Next, I joined BleuBlancRouge, also located in Montreal. By then, my growing interest in mixing live action and interactive storytelling brought me to Sweden where I joined the hybrid (digital & film) production studio B-Reel. I spent about 3 years working both from the Stockholm and New York offices, and also did a short stint in London.

After spending most of 2010 freelancing, I joined the Digital Kitchen team in the beginning of 2011 where I’m currently working as a Creative Technologist.

Today, I’m still very passionate for everything that is interactive, both online and offline. I try to be involved in every step of the process, from the concept phase, to strategy all the way to the delivery. Through my professional and personal work, I hope I can keep on contributing to the creation of innovative and engaging experiences.
